MusicACT is a not-for-profit association supporting the territory’s music industry with representation, policy development, workshops and showcase events. David Caffery is currently President of MusicACT, having previously served on the board and managed their launch and two ACT Music Awards.
David is a co-author of Cool Little Capital, a report on the impediments and state of live music in the ACT in 2015. Some recommendations have been passed, while many remain wanting for a more vibrant, liveable city. On-going conversations and initiatives continue this work including the Let Music Live rally held in 2019 which opposed the city’s noise regulations and resulted in the ACT Government’s commitment to developing “entertainment precincts” to better support live music and other venues.
Canberra’s peak music industry body provides professional development for musicians and advocacy for a healthier industry.
David is the MusicACT president, Michael often supports communication and new ideas.
David joined the MusicACT board in 2011 and became President in 2018.
